My favorite little Florida town

Sopchoppy, Florida, is a unique town with a very unusual festival - note the poster.   Well known for its worm/bait industry, it's a very quaint "old Florida" type town. Old style wooden floor general store, no stoplight, one restaurant, 2 gas stations, etc.  charming, laid back, one million dollar house on the river, lots of empty houses and businesses. Mostly low income families. Lots of subsistance hunting and fishing. Lots of trucks with cages for their deer dogs. I love it.

The Blacklocks stopped by for a visit - how awesome. I was so happy to see them.  We had a beverage at my campsite and went for dinner at the Tropical Trader. Great food and wonderful conversation. I am discovering that I really miss my family and friends. I'm not as independent as I once was.  I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing.  I sure enjoyed the Shatneys and Blacklocks visiting me. Sure means a lot to me.   Next week Ann and Jim will be here. Pretty wonderful.
