Two days on day use and 3 on campground. Pretty much the same as last year. Same rangers and same camping location.. Boy, is our new mono nice!
Said left on the 6th - at 7 am We got up at 4:30 and left at 5. I always drop him off at the airport and go have breakfast someplace just in case there is a cancellation. Good thing. He had bough some honey from one of the rangers and security wouldn't let him take it in his carry on. I quickly drove back and got it. Try telling security that you came to pick up your husband's honey that they wouldn't allow him to take on the plane. Funny.
The day went from bad to worse. Smashed my little finger between the mop handle and a shower door. Really whacked it! Owwwweeeeee! blood and guts kind of thing DAMN THAT HURT!
Spent my first day off in Appalachicola - one of my favorite places to visit. Love the history and architecture.
This is the bridge to across the river to Eastpoint.
KT and I went two-trecking into Tate's Hell National Forest. Miles and miles of trees, brush, ect. Most impressive were the Dwarf Cedars. They are under study cuz they aren't sure which environmental factor causes their growth stunt. Some are over 300 years old. They have taken seeds from these trees and planted them in other locations and they grow normally. Way interesting.
Another town that I love for the same reasons as Appalachicola is Carrabelle. It has the same qualities such as oyster, shrimp, fishing industries as well as a beautifull anchorage and boats and boats and boats of all kinds. Thought this bike rack was pretty cool. I want one for my garden.
